LUAS CROSS CITY SCHEME
The Mattest Dublin laboratory have recently been awarded the materials testing contract for the new LUAS Cross City Scheme in Dublin. Sisk Steconfer JV are the design and construction contractor for the new 5km light rail line project which runs from St. Stephen’s Green to Broombridge.
The €368 million contract which links the exiting Red and Green LUAS lines will provide a superior transport service to the city centre and north Dublin city.
The LUAS Green and Red Lines commenced operations in 2004 and LUAS currently consists of 54 stations and 36.5 kilometres of service track.
Mattest were involved in the enabling works for the project which required the relocating of utilities and the construction of the Rosie Hackett Bridge over the River Liffey.
Having previously worked on construction of the previous sections of the LUAS as well as delivering high quality testing contracts for the main contractor, Mattest Dublin were the first choice of the main contractor to provide a quality testing service on the LUAS Cross City project. The project is expected to be completed and operational by end 2017.
