Material Testing Laboratory Manager – Tyrone
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Day to day management of the laboratory / site operations and team, providing testing requirements for concrete, soils, aggregates and blacktop
- Direct line management of laboratory personnel
- Maintain UKAS accreditation and quality system to ISO 17025
- Liaising with client around testing requirements
- Checking test schedules against current standards and specifications
- Heading up laboratory audits and inspections
- Reporting of testing results
- Responsible for the laboratories adherence to the internal quality system.
- Responsible for the laboratories adherence to company health and safety policy.
- Any other reasonable duty as requested by management.
Essential Criteria
- Experience running a materials / geotechnical laboratory
- Good understanding of current test methods and standards
- Experience in managing a team
- Experience liaising with customers both technically and commercially
- Experience in UKAS audits
- Excellent communication skills
- Full clean driving license
- A degree of flexibility will be required regarding working hours as occasional early morning starts, late evening work and weekend work may be required.
Desirable Criteria
- Degree in materials science, engineering or construction
- CSR card or equivalent
