Material Testing Laboratory Manager – Tyrone

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Day to day management of the laboratory / site operations and team, providing testing requirements for concrete, soils, aggregates and blacktop
  • Direct line management of laboratory personnel
  • Maintain UKAS accreditation and quality system to ISO 17025
  • Liaising with client around testing requirements
  • Checking test schedules against current standards and specifications
  • Heading up laboratory audits and inspections
  • Reporting of testing results
  • Responsible for the laboratories adherence to the internal quality system.
  • Responsible for the laboratories adherence to company health and safety policy.
  • Any other reasonable duty as requested by management.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience running a materials / geotechnical laboratory
  • Good understanding of current test methods and standards
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Experience liaising with customers both technically and commercially
  • Experience in UKAS audits
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full clean driving license
  • A degree of flexibility will be required regarding working hours as occasional early morning starts, late evening work and weekend work may be required.

Desirable Criteria

  • Degree in materials science, engineering or construction
  • CSR card or equivalent
